“Everyone does it”.. just isn’t a good enough reason

As you may well know I am running a Thanksgiving Sale this weekend and this morning I had a conversation with someone where I was basically told that they wouldn’t promote my sale because I didn’t promote their product.

Which product, well any of them..

Apparently the way that it works is that I promote their stuff then they promote mine, it doesn’t seem to matter what their product is, how much it is or anything else. If I want them to promote mine then I have to be willing to just promote anything no matter what they throw at me.

“Everyone does it” isn’t a good enough reason for me to just send out the same email that everyone else is sending out or take the time to write  a email about a product I haven’t seen and quite often isn’t even finished at the time I hear about it.

I was told that the result of this strange attitude of mine is that I will stay poor (my wife and the sales see to that, I don’t need any help from anyone else) and won’t be able to join the IM “in crowd”..

Well know what.. I will live with that..

What cheeses me off even more is that in the last week I have been given a copy of a soon to be released product and I love it, It is simple to use and fits in perfectly with what I already sell. So I will be letting people know about it because I genuinely like the product and use it. I am sure some people will think I am just jumping on the bandwagon..

If you do see my name on a email you can be pretty darned sure that I am not promoting something because I need to get into the right parties.

Ok that is off my chest now time to move on back to working on the thanksgiving sale

    Paul,

Just wanted to let you know that I have become a big fan of yours (over the last 3 hours) i spent mulling over to purchase your Thanksgiving Sale offer. As you will see either tonight or tomorrow, I have decided to purchase and wanted to thank you for your insight and humor (as an internet marketer) we both share an odd sense of humor that is. But anyway, just wanted to give you a heads up that you have a new customer, a determined one at that, and I look forward to working with Comment Hut starting tonight and would love to share the results with you (good or bad) though I have a strong hunch that my web store will only benefit from this greatly! Have a wonderful evening and I will be in touch through your email address or blog addres and keep you posted on my progress. Happy blogging and keep up the great work…

    Best,
