I lose money every week..
Ok How and why admit it..
I lose money because I don’t promote items that I don’t use, I get offered free copies of this that and the other and all people want in return is to have you promote the item to your list, do a review or both.
But if the product is new and I have never used it, how can I recommend it?
I am building a list by giving away a free version of comment hut, and I obviously want to make money from that list, I offer them my own products and I also have offered them one or two products from other people (I think it is 2 at the most) I offered these products because I used them and found them useful in my work.
I heard someone recently referred to as a affiliate whore, when I asked what they meant.. Basically the person sent out a email about absolutely everything that was ever released.
This continual mailing probably made them a few good sales, but my friend was telling me that the aforementioned “affiliate whore” (lets call him AW for short) was now getting to the point where his emails were being automatically deleted.
Most people are on many lists, usually 10+ , I mean you get onto a list when you get anything free, you get onto a list when you want a free report, you get on a list when you sign up for a forum..
If all of these list owners email you about the latest greatest product from Mr XYZ , which one do you listen to?
Do you click on the link from the 1st person who sends it or do you listen to the one you trust most as he hasn’t sent you a million emails before about rubbish..
I think email marketing is one of the toughest things we will ever do, it is hard to build a rapport with the end user and to get through all the noise is even harder.
So if it is so hard to build a effective list (and that is different from any other list) Is it worth it?
Yes!
I earned more from one email I sent to my list recently than I did in two weeks of adsense income, and I don’t have a huge list by any standards.
How do I build a list… well thats a post for another day..
