I found rabid buyers..

The only problem is I am one of them..

One of the things that I have seen taught just about everywhere is that you should try and find a group of rabid buyers and sell to them.

Well I have become one, and I definitely married one..

I would never in a million years have believed that there were so many magazines for parents to be, then more for parents of babies, then different ones again for preschool kids..

Every single one of these magazines is full of adverts, full page adverts which must cost thousands of dollars (probably 10′s of thousands) showing products by huge well known brands for items that everyone who reads those magazines needs. The full page adverts didn’t shock me, but the 4 pages of smaller adverts for things I have never heard of or seen before and here I am sitting on the loo getting ready to call in and buy them.

I would say that I am pretty clued up on selling stuff, yet I can still feel the urge to buy more crap which I will probably never use..

If you are into the parenting/baby/toddler niche then good for you, if you aren’t then my advice is to start looking for something to sell them..

Oh and when you do find something send me a link , I may just become your best customer for the next few months..

Let’s put it this way, for my second one (if/when that happens), all I’m buying is

    1. Clothes if it’s a girl. If it’s a boy, he’s getting hand-me downs
    2. A pushchair if we’ve already gotten rid of the two we’ve bought for our first child (the first was a “travel system” – great for 4-5 months; the second was a lighter pram – great for a year; we’re now looking for an aluminium-frame, pared-down “racing bike” of a pram so that it’s possible to carry it + baby seperately!)
    3. Cotton wool
    4. Metanium nappy-rash cream. Get this. Don’t mess with normal nappy-rash cream. Metanium rocks!! Not sure what the brand name is in the US – let me know and I’ll see if I can get it from the tube here.

That’s it. Anything else is money thrown down the pan.

Of course – people told us that as well when we first found out we were pregnant, and we ignored them too.
    :-)
