Looks do matter

I hate to admit it, I hate to even think it, but it is true.

When you are making software it matters what it looks like, especially if you are making a video or using screenshots for the sales page.

Yes functionality matters but if the software looks like it was made with a hammer and a spanner from your 2 year olds toy tool kit it will lose you sales and JV partners.

I also wonder about some of the pics people use on their pages, Comment Hut was the first page where I ever used a pic of me, and I posed in a particular way as my partner in the project had a pic in the same style.
I know I am no looker so I am not saying that you should get a body double to stand in for your pics but I saw a pic the other day where the guy looked like he was selling cars in the late 70′s. He had a shiny suit on and a tasche, they would both have looked in place on the forecourt of a used car dealership.

I do suggest that you get pics taken and use them on your pages, in your manuals and anywhere else, no need to go spend money on it, but try and get a variety taken.
I am just waiting to lose my baby weight before I get some more pics taken.
