I was chatting on skype to a mate of mine and that is exactly what he said!
Now I am sure that some of you will be giggling at the various meanings of the word “tool” but come on now stop laughing in the back row..
I admit it non of the tools I make are bounding with colorful icons that pop out and say “web 2.0 is here” to you.
However they do what I say they will.
It seems to me that people are almost looking for style over substance in everything that goes on in their lives, not just when they look at tools but other things as well.
Would you rather have flashy icons over workability?
Do you buy something based on how it looks rather than what it does?
I could try and make my future tools more flashy, maybe have a dancing girl (or boy) appear on your desktop every time you start it up?
I can’t see it happening somehow can you..
Oh and I am just reading through a wordpress master piece that is coming out next weekend. Very impressed so far, I will do a product review for it later this weekend.
