I have skype buttons on my Comment Hut sales page and find them to be very effective, people contact me and ask about comment hut (they also ask me about the most obscure unrelated things as well) it has a great Instant messaging function as well as calls.
A couple of days ago I was chatting to someone interested in buying comment hut and we got chatting about his business and what he was doing and hoping to do with it.
He was telling me how he had bought ebooks and tools galore and why should he buy mine, now to be honest he was quite aggressive in his manner at first.
Rather than just saying move on (no one should have to deal with any sort of aggression) I actually took the time to talk to him about what he was doing and what he wanted to do..
He had spent a fair amount of money on ebooks and tools already and he knows backlinks are important, but when I asked him what sort of site he was promoting….
He doesn’t have a site!
Not one!
No adsense sites, no affiliate marketing sites not even a site about his family..
So why is he buying tools to promote a site he doesn’t even have?
Because that’s what he has been taught to believe..
Buy this and you will make money, Buy that and you will make even more money..
Let me into the real secret ..
You wont make any money online unless you actually do something.
Yes I know it is a radical idea, but buying all the books and tools in the world is pointless if you dont do anything with them.
My advice to him was to buy nothing for a month but to spend the time building a site and at least getting a adsense account.
You don’t even have to spend any money, go get a free blog at blogger or wordpress or even better go and try Xanga
If you are reading this and you don’t have at least one site of your own (I dont care if it has any form of monetization on it yet) then please, please, please go and start one now.
Start a blog about your day , about your family, about your hobby, In fact I don’t mind what you do as long as you do something.
So in the end I did turn away his purchase, but hopefully I have helped him along the right path..
Paul, I believe you did help that person, probably more than you realize. Everyone needs their OWN ONLINE REALESTATE. I was one of those people that would buy mega amounts of ebooks and software, most of them I never read or used.
Did I make any money off them???
Hell NO. Not until I started DOING what I had learnt!
NOTHING will beat getting off your butt and taking ACTION. Action to build your own online presence, action to build a list of responsive targeted subscribers, action to get yourself known as an ACTION TAKER!

This is my first visit to your blog. Very good – I’m impressed.
However, I don’t agree with your idea of encouraging everyone to go and get a website now. There’s enough rubbish on the web already. If people don’t have the savvy to make a decent website then leave them to it. Don’t add to the quagmire.
